Senate Republican candidate Barrett Davie has been busy canvassing his district this holiday, noting on July 3 his plans to walk in Independence Day parades.

"My campaign is walking through Deerfield and Northbrook and so we would love to have anyone who wants to participate come and join us because we would love to have you,” Davie said on Facebook.

Davie, who is running against incumbent Sen. Julie Morrison (D-Deerfield), also mentioned other campaign stops on his social media page, including a June 23 visit to the North Shore with a photo of Davie under a Wheeling Park District Canopy.

“Our team canvassed in Northbrook this morning and then celebrated at the Wheeling Park District Festival,” Davie said in the post. “Nothing better than summer on the North Shore.”

Barrett will host a Meet and Greet July 18 at Spears Bourbon Burgers and Beer in Wheeling beginning at 6:30 p.m., according to the campaign’s upcoming events.
