Lake Park Community High School District 108 recently issued the following announcement.

Dear AP student,

Advanced Placement (AP) classes are among the most challenging courses offered at Lake Park. To make sure you’re off to a great start, Lake Park High School invites you to attend our AP Boot Camp for students new to AP this year. Camp will take place July 31 and August 1, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

This two-day camp, which is free of charge, will be held at West Campus and taught by AP teachers, former AP students, and counseling staff. Each day will be packed with tips, strategies and insights that will give you a huge advantage as you take AP courses this fall.

Among the many things you will learn include:

* Important AP academic strategies, reading skills, and study tips

* How to manage the AP workload

* Tips for balancing school, work, sports and activities

* The resources and supports you’ll need to help you get through

In addition, participants will discover their learning styles; develop SMART goals; participate in team building, and enjoy a wrap-up pizza party!

Again, this two-day AP Boot Camp is free of charge. In order to participate, simply notify Mrs. Sheila Finstein, West Campus Administrative Assistant, of your interest in attending. Mrs. Finstein can be reached at sfinstein@lphs.org, or at (630) 295-5321.

Hurry, participation will be limited to the first 50 students who respond. Registration ends Friday, July 20.
