COMMUNITY CONSOLIDATED SCHOOL DISTRICT 59: Cool Things to Do in the Hot Summer

Hot

Community Consolidated School District 59 issued the following announcement on May 30.

Does your child want to stay in touch with school friends over the summer? Want to keep your child engaged in learning while enjoying some family time together while school is out? Come to CCSD59’s Family Summer Nights*!

This new program will be offered at various qualifying schools throughout the district from 6:00 to 7:30pm in the evenings, and there are no restrictions to CCSD59 families. You can come to one event or all of them, and families can go to any of the schools to attend an event, not just the child’s school of attendance.

The schedule of our family summer nights is now available here, and the first one is scheduled on Thursday, June 7 at 6:00 pm at Robert Frost. We hope you join us and kick off your summer with some school-is-out fun.

Activities will vary, but examples of planned activities include book exchanges, activity stations, and much more! Family Summer Night themes will include collaboration, creation, and perseverance. Light refreshments will be available.

Can’t make it? Check out our list of weekly experiences* for great things you can do anywhere with your child (grades 4th through 8th) or sign up for the Ready Rosie program (grades Pre-K to 3rd) to keep learning going all summer long!
