Elk Grove Park District issued the following announcement on May 14.
Audubon Park located on Elk Grove Boulevard will soon be home to a new outdoor skate park. The new addition is built on the site of the old inline hockey rink.
The design includes an asphalt rink surface for ramps, stairs, ledges and obstacles.
Additional improvements to the skate park include; shaded seating areas, drinking fountains, protective fencing and additional landscaping.
The skate park will provide a more inclusive option for cross training, skating, scooters and a variety of challenge levels.
The open design allows residents to skate at their convenience at no charge. The outdoor skate park will be open year round weather permitting.

The Outdoor Skate Park Grand Opening Event is being planned for later this summer.
Everyone is invited to attend.
