Report: Niles Township spent $26,951 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Niles Township Community High School District 219 is up 20 percent from five years ago, according to a North Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $22,552 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $26,951 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 4919 to 4587.

Niles Township's spending in 2016-17 was 108 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
