Report: Skokie spent $16,039 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Skokie School District 73-5 is up 23 percent from five years ago, according to a North Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $13,052 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $16,039 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1054 to 1079.

Skokie's spending in 2016-17 was 24 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
