Report: Evanston spent $22,742 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Evanston Township High School District 202 is up 6 percent from five years ago, according to a North Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $21,428 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $22,742 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 3147 to 3329.

Evanston's spending in 2016-17 was 75 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
