Report: East Maine spent $12,758 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at East Maine School District 63 is up 8 percent from five years ago, according to a North Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $11,834 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $12,758 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 3630 to 3539.

East Maine's spending in 2016-17 was 2 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
