Report: Maine spent $19,219 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Maine Township High School District 207 is up 12 percent from five years ago, according to a North Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $17,234 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $19,219 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 6525 to 6352.

Maine's spending in 2016-17 was 48 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
