Report: River Trails spent $16,288 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at River Trails School District 26 is up 2 percent from five years ago, according to a North Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $15,924 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $16,288 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1374 to 1524.

River Trails's spending in 2016-17 was 26 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
