Analysis: Evanston pays $7.41 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Evanston Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 88.1 percent of the $8,393,839 the Evanston Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $7.41 for every $1 from pension members, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Evanston contributed $7,396,641 to the fund, which saw a $1,052,503 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $997,198, or 11.9 percent, in 2016.
