Analysis: Barrington pays $4.21 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Barrington Hills Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 79.8 percent of the $842,357 the Barrington Hills Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $4.21 for every $1 from pension members, according to a North Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Barrington contributed $671,907 to the fund, which saw a $207 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $159,406, or 18.9 percent, in 2016. Another $11,044 came from other unspecified sources.
