Several Des Plaines Community Consolidated School District 62 staff members were recently recognized for their exemplary work.
District teams were feted by the Illinois State Board of Education at the Those Who Excel awards banquet, according to a press release.
The program recognizes teachers, administrators, student support personnel, educational service personnel, community volunteers, board members and education teams from across the state for rising above the call of duty in the fulfillment of their job descriptions, the release said.

The distinctions include Award of Excellence, Award of Merit and the Award of Recognition.
District 62 winners were Dr. Ellen Swanson, Award of Excellence; Heather Jacobs and Jennifer Janowski King, Award of Merit; and Carrie Sargent, Award of Recognition, the release states.
