U.S. Rep. Brad Schneider (D-IL) recently withdrew his support for Sen. Daniel Biss (D-Evanston) in Illinois’ gubernatorial race, according to a Facebook post.
The withdrawal followed Republican challenger Jeremy Wynes' criticism of Schneider for supporting Biss after the Democrat chose Chicago Alderman Carlos Ramirez-Rosa as his running mate.
“…I was immediately concerned about some of Alderman Ramirez-Rosa’s past comments about the United States support of our ally Israel, and his affiliation with a group that is an outspoken supporter of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel,” Schneider posted. “Following conversations with Senator Biss and Alderman Ramirez-Rosa, I have informed the campaign of the withdrawal of my support.”

Wynes had called out Biss for choosing the Socialist politician who has been critical of Israel, calling for a withdrawal of American support for its longtime ally.
