The Des Plaines Park District will host indoor youth tennis starting Jan. 21, according to dpparks.org.
The program has three age brackets: 5-7, 8-10 and 11-13. Participants will meet Saturdays for eight weeks through March 11 at the Leisure Center gym, which is located at 2222 Birch St. Beginners are welcome.
The program will use the USTA Quickstart method, including modifications to net height, type of ball, and the sizes of the courts and racquets. Players will enjoy access to a limited number of racquets provided by the park district.
The 5-7 age group will meet from 1-2:30 p.m.; the 8-10 group from 2:30-4 p.m.; and the 11-13 group from 4-5:30 p.m.
