To celebrate a successful year, the Prospect Heights Natural Resources Commission (PHNRC) is hosting its annual seed-processing and inaugural Volunteer Appreciation Potluck Luncheon.

The annual seed-processing event will take place Sunday, Nov. 20, from 9 a.m. to noon, with the celebratory lunch and recognition of the Volunteer of the Year with the Golden Loppers award. The luncheon runs noon to 2 p.m., and the event will take place at 9 East Marion in Prospect Heights.

PHNRC has reached unprecedented productivity in 2016, made possible through the dedication and hard work of volunteers, which is all the more reason to celebrate. The past year has certainly been the most transformational for PHNRC.

Volunteers who wish to attend should RSVP by Tuesday, with the number of people planning to attend, to PHNRC Secretary Jill Moskal at jill.moskal@att.net. Significant others, children and dogs are all welcome to take part. Participants will receive a reply email with the potluck entrée they should bring. The Prospect Heights Park District, a PHNRC partner organization, will provide the first kielbasa roast of the season, drinks and antipasto.

Tools, instructions and assistance will be offered at the seed-processing event. Participants who wish to get more information can find facts and answers to questions at the PHNRC website. Download the volunteer waiver form and bring it to the work day.

We will supply all tools, instructions and supervision. Please visit our website at http://phnrc.com/how-to-volunteer.html to learn more about the volunteer program. New to the program? Download our volunteer waiver and bring it with you the event.
