Prospect Heights Fire/Police Commission to meet, consider business

The City of Prospect Heights Fire/Police Commission will meet at 4 p.m. tomorrow, Aug. 17.

"The Police & Fire Commission shall appoint all members of the police department of the city, except the chief of police, the deputy chief, part time police officers, and non-sworn personnel. The board shall make rules for and appointments to the police department as is necessary, except insofar as said power may otherwise be reserved to the Mayor and City Council. Said rules shall also provide for the imposition of discipline upon members of the police department, including, but not limited to, suspension and discharge. Said disciplinary action shall be in accordance with the statutes of the state."
