Elgin Committee of the Whole gathers to discuss special presentations, reports

Members of the City of Elgin Committee of the Whole met at 6 p.m. yesterday, Aug. 10.

The Elgin Committee of the Whole is a less formal meeting of the City Council, which gives members an opportunity to discuss items and ask questions. Meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month in the City Council Chambers of City Hall, at the Robert Gilliam Municipal Complex, 150 Dexter Court.

Presentation on Potential Water Treatment Options to Mitigate Taste and Odor Issues (Informational; No City Council Action Being Requested)

A. Follow-up Discussion to Sikich LLC Audit Presentation (Informational; No City Council Action Being Requested)

B. Consideration of Second Amendment to Engineering Services Agreement with RK Johnson and Associates Inc. Engineers for 2016 Combined Sewer Overflow NPDES Permit Compliance ($109,100) Objective: Provide city staff with engineering services to comply with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency requirements of the NPDES permit.

C. Consideration of Approval of New U.S. Route 20 and Reinking Road Intersection Configuration (No cost to the City) Objective: Support the construction of a roundabout at the U.S. Route 20 and Reinking Road intersection to eliminate the undesirable curve at Reinking Road.

D. Consideration of Intergovernmental Agreement and Easement Agreement with the Fox River Water Reclamation District for a Sludge Transfer Main Project (No cost to the City) Objective: Enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement and an Easement Agreement with the Fox River Water Reclamation District to allow the District to install a sludge transfer main along the northern boundary of the city's Sports Complex property.
