The Village of Wheeling Liquor Control Commission held a special meeting and public hearing on March 7.

The applicant was Central Florida Restaurants Inc., doing business as TGI Fridays at 1500 Lake Cook Road.

The TGI Fridays in Wheeling was previously approved for a class A liquor license on April 27, 2015, at a special meeting of the Liquor Control Commission. The approval was subject to the payment of all fees, materials submitted and satisfactory background checks.

Class A licenses allow restaurants to serve alcoholic beverages. The restaurant must seat at least 75 in the dining area, offer full meals prepared onsite and accept and serve orders until no earlier than two hours before closing time. Video gaming is not allowed in restaurants with a class A liquor license.

After the special meeting was adjourned, the regular meeting of the Wheeling board of trustees was called to order. The board discussed a redevelopment agreement with WTC LLC, four ordinances regarding the self-storage facility at 2730 Jackson Drive, an amendment to the municipal code regarding small cell antennas and amending the FY 2015 annual budget.

Both meetings were televised on Wheeling cable channels 17 and 99.
