The Arlington Heights Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission will review and possibly approve the Wayfinding Signage Implementation Plan and a

revised Basemap Update on the Draft Bike Plan at the commission's next meeting, 7:30 p.m. today in the Hanson Room at Arlington Heights Village Hall, 33 S. Arlington Heights Road.

The wayfinding signage was extensively discussed at the commission's previous meeting, which led to a request to review a rough draft of the map.

The commission also discussed a proposed bike-parking ordinance at the last meeting, and the next step in the process was to write a memo that answered the questions from the Ordinance Review Commission. The memo will be reviewed tonight and if approved by the commissioners, it will be sent to the Engineering, Legal and Planning Departments for review.

The commission also will hear an update on the draft bike plan.

The commission also will discuss 2016 Bike Arlington Ride events. In 2015, the village held three community bike rides, in May, June and September. Each course took riders over Arlington Heights bikeways and through its neighborhoods.

The commission also will discuss an upcoming bike-commuter class.
