Resolutions regarding rehabilitation of runway 16/34 are on tomorrow night's agenda.
The Chicago Executive Airport Board of Directors will hear and discuss several resolutions regarding runway 16/34 at its 6 p.m. meeting tomorrow, Feb. 17.
The meeting will be held at 1020 S. Plant Road, Wheeling.
The board will review the resolutions that will allow the airport to rehabilitate runway 16/34. They include a non-federal reimbursable agreement and an agreement with the Illinois Department of Transportation. A third resolution declares the condition of the runway as a safety emergency and approves an agreement for repairs with Zodiac Arresting Systems Corp.
The board will also hold a discussion on the third annual Rock N' Run the Runway event, scheduled for 8 a.m. on July 3 at the airport. The event includes a five-kilometer run and one-mile walk. The proceeds from registration fees and donations fund local scholarships for full-time students. To qualify, the student must be an Illinois resident that is currently or will be attending an accredited Illinois school.
After 5 p.m., the airport, Village of Wheeling and City of Prospect Heights will host live music, a display of aircraft and a fireworks display.
