The Wilmette Land Use Committee will review the R2 zoning district and short-term rental regulations on Thursday evening.
Two public hearings are on the agenda for the upcoming Village of Wilmette Land Use Committee meeting.
The committee will be sitting as a special zoning committee at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, in the second floor training room of Village Hall, 1200 Wilmette Ave.
The committee will return to the discussion regarding the R2 Attached Residence Zoning District and the regulations regarding townhomes and stacked flats. At the previous meeting, there was an extensive discussion with members of the public and committee members regarding the number of townhomes on a lot, side-facing townhomes and the height of the buildings. The committee will review updated information provided by staff before taking the matter to the village board.
The committee will also review and discuss updated information from Village Corporation Counsel Michael Zimmermann regarding short-term rentals, such as Airbnb, in the village. A summary of state laws and other materials regarding short-term rentals and home-sharing will also be discussed.
Adoption of the International Code Council's Property Maintenance Code will be discussed by the committee, as well. After new business and public comments have been addressed, the meeting will conclude.
