The Schaumburg Committee on Aging will continue the discussion about the purchase of Septemberfest literature bags at its 7 p.m. meeting tomorrow, Feb. 3.
At the previous meeting, the committee agreed to research the cost of an additional 500 to 1,000 bags. After hearing updates on the cost, the committee may take action.
The 2016 Septemberfest will be the 46th annual event, which is held over Labor Day weekend -- Sept. 3, 4 and 5. The event includes an arts and crafts show, a bingo tent, carnival and a not-for-profit day on Monday. Nonprofits sell food and beverages to raise funds. The committee maintains a booth during the event.
Also on the agenda under new business is an Alzheimer's grant, a safety handout and Committee on Aging (COA) badges. The committee will hear presentations, review and discuss each item before taking action as needed.
After hearing the liaison, budget and committee reports, the committee will ask for comments from the audience. Following public comment, the meeting will be adjourned. The next meeting of the Village of Schaumburg Committee on Aging is scheduled for April 6.
