The Wilmette Village Board will hear a presentation on ComEd's smart meter program and consider several other items including the purchase of police vehicles at its meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The consent agenda contains several items including the purchase of four police interceptors and outfitting the cars with emergency lights and equipment.
Also on the consent agenda are several requests for zoning variations and for special-use permits, various contracts and securing $923,500 of Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) funds from the state for the street resurfacing program.
The board will hear a presentation on the ComEd smart meters. ComEd is planning to install smart meters in all homes and businesses in northern Illinois before 2019. More than 1 million smart meters have already been installed and ComEd will install approximately 4 million more units.
