School District U-46 CEO Tony Sanders
School District U-46 CEO Tony Sanders will explain his leadership style at the next CEO Unplugged installment.
The Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce continues this series at a luncheon on Feb. 3 at the Grand Victoria Casino pavilion, 250 S. Grove. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m., and the luncheon commences at noon.
As CEO of School District U-46, Sanders faces challenges every day, from building trust with staff and students to setting measurable goals to ensuring that students graduate with the ability to compete in a global marketplace. With over 40,000 students and nearly 4,000 employees, the school district requires innovative and strong leadership to reach its goals.
Sanders has over 20 years of experience in the education sector. After joining U-46 as chief communications officer, he worked his way up to chief of staff for the former superintendent, Dr. Jose Torres. He also worked for the St. Louis Public Schools and served as acting director for governmental relations and public information for the Illinois State Board of Education. He also held posts at the Department of Professional Regulation and the Illinois Department of Public Health.
After the informal interview, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions about the district and successful leadership techniques.
Reservations for the event can be made online at www.elginchamber.com or by calling 847-741-5660. The cost is $20 for chamber members and $25 for guests and non-members.
