Mount Prospect board swears in police sergeant and welcomes fire department new hires.
The Village of Mount Prospect board welcomed new hires and promoted a police sergeant at the Jan. 5 meeting.
The swearing-in ceremonies were the highlight of the Village of Mount Prospect board of trustees meeting on Jan. 5. Officer Jack Brogan was sworn in as sergeant by Mark Busse of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners. Interim Fire Chief Brian Lambel introduced and swore in the new fire department members: Michael Filip, John Kelly, Ryan Lawler, Andrew Maynard, Joseph Salecki and Joshua Wojnowski.
The board also announced the appointment of Dale Henricksen to the Centennial Commission.
After the Consent Agenda was approved, Mayor Juracek opened the public meeting regarding the annexation of a two-acre tract of property to the Village of Mount Prospect. The property is a portion of the Illinois Tollway property. The intent is to completely surround the Lynn Court Condominiums.
Community Development Director William Cooney presented the details and answered questions. After the public hearing, the board approved the resolution that authorized an annexation agreement with the Illinois State Tollway Authority.
The board also heard a report from Public Works Director Sean Dorsey on the recent storm that dumped ice, rain and snow on the village.
