The Elgin Greatest Loser Challenge, sponsored by the Centre of Elgin and Elgin Fresh Market, both in Elgin, Illinois, kicks off on Jan. 2 and ends on Feb. 29.
The eight-week weight loss challenge is open to Centre of Elgin members with a valid silver, gold or platinum membership. All Greatest Loser participants must sign up and weigh in by 12 p.m. on Jan. 9.
Members who register for the challenge will receive a $5 gift card from Elgin Fresh Market. Added incentives include a $25 gift card for the member with the greatest weight loss each week and a weekly drawing for a $25 gift card. All participants who weigh in that week are automatically entered in the drawing.
At the end of the eight-week challenge, Elgin's Greatest Loser will win a $1,000 Elgin Fresh Market gift card. The second place winner will receive a $500 Elgin Fresh Market gift card and the third place winner will receive a $250 Elgin Fresh Market gift card.
Centre of Elgin members who wish to join in the Greatest Loser Challenge can call Health/Fitness Supervisor Ron Anderson at 847-531-7023 for a weigh-in appointment. Interested residents can call the Centre of Elgin's Membership Manager Eddy Hernandez at 847-531-7018 for information on how to join the Centre and participate in the weight loss challenge.
