The City of Park Ridge, Illinois, as a member of the O’Hare Noise Compatibility Commission (ONCC), received a letter from the ONCC Executive Director Jeanette Camacho on October 23 proposing to extend the intergovernmental agreement to Dec. 31, 2020.
Established in 1996, the ONCC intergovernmental agreement was extended in 2005, 2010 and 2015. All participants of the intergovernmental agreement must approve the amendment for it to take effect. The letter requested that all members respond by December 31.
If Park Ridge should decide to withdraw from the ONCC in the future, it must provide a 60 day written notice accompanied by a certified copy of the official action or resolution authorizing its withdrawal. In addition, the City of Chicago can terminate the agreement with 180 days written notice to all participants and advisory members.
By approving the amendment, the City of Park Ridge remains a member of the ONCC. The Park Ridge City Attorney reviewed the amendment and had no concerns with it.
The resolution authorizing the amendment was reviewed, discussed and passed by voice vote at the Committee of the Whole meeting on November 23. It will be read and approved by roll call vote by the City of Park Ridge board of trustees at the December 7 meeting.
