Public hearing on Streamwood proposed property tax levy set for tonight

The Village of Streamwood, Illinois will hold a public hearing today at 6:45 p.m. on the proposed property tax levy.

The hearing will be held at the Streamwood Village Hall, 301 East Irving Park Rd. Interested parties who wish to speak at the public hearing should contact Village Clerk Kittie Kopitke at 630-736-3800.

The taxes extended or abated for 2014 were the corporate and special purpose property taxes of $9,446,275, and the debt services and public building commission leases of $1,284,822 for a total of $10,731,097.

The 2015 proposed taxes for corporate and special purpose property taxes are $9,483,847 and for debt service and public building commission leases are $1,247,250. These represent a 0.4 percent increase and 2.9 percent decrease, respectively, from 2014.

The total estimated property tax levies for the Village of Streamwood for 2015 are $10,731,097, which is the same as the previous year.
