Save money while shopping local in Park Ridge

Holidaygifts

Residents of Park Ridge, Illinois are encouraged to enjoy Small Business Saturday on Nov. 28, with a children's gift give-a-way, Santa, Frosty, elves, carolers and more from noon to 3 p.m.

Sponsored by the Uptown Merchants, Small Business Saturday encourages residents to shop locally. Merchants based in the city support the entire community while providing unique gifts and personal service. Every dollar spent within the community helps save on taxes, as locally owned businesses use fewer resources and infrastructure than large chain stores. It also increases the local tax base, which benefits everyone who lives or works within the city.

By shopping locally, Park Ridge residents save gas and time while reducing pollution. Residents who support local businesses also encourage entrepreneurs and skilled workers to work and live in the city. Many business owners generously support a variety of youth and non-profit organizations within the city, making it a more desirable place to live.

In addition to the many benefits to the community, residents can use the Park Ridge Holiday Savings Pass for discounts on goods and services with selected local merchants. For more information on the Holiday Savings Pass, call 847-698-3808 or visit the website at www.localsavingspass.com
