Executive Board session held at recent Wilmette Village Board meeting

The Wilmette Board met in late October in the Council Room at the Village Hall, 1200 Wilmette Ave., Wilmette, Illinois.

After being called to order, a roll call, and public comments, the board moved on to the Consent Agenda. Item 3.12, Case #2015-Z-32, 701 Laurel Ave. requesting a zoning variance, which was removed and tabled until the November 24 board meeting.

Approvals on the Consent Agenda included Cases #2015-HPC-01, 1110 Chestnut Ave.; #2015-AR-27, 3207 Lake Ave. and Ordinance #2015-O-60, 141 Maple Ave. The Zoning Board of Appeals Reports included Cases #2015-Z-44, 123 Prairie Ave.; #2015-Z-45, 114 16th St.; #2015-Z-46, 1115 Ashland Ave.; #2015-Z-47, 927 Greenleaf Ave. and #2015-Z-48, 1100 Central Ave., Unit D.

The Consent Agenda also included the September Monthly Financial Reports; a contract with Lauterbach & Amen, LLP, for audit services; approval of the 2014-2016 Collective Bargaining Agreement with Firefighter Service Employee International Union Local 73 and approval of the Illinois Public Works Mutual Aid Network Agreement (IPWMAN).

Appointments included Jill Hayes to the Transportation Commission, and Robert Furniss and Charles Hutchinson to the Historic Preservation Commission. Robert Fitzgerald's term has expired on the Historic Preservation Commission.

Announcements included the cancellation of the December 22 Regular Village Board Meeting; a request for an Executive Session; and the posting of the proposed 2016 Budget at www.wilmette.com

Under the Land Use Standing Committee Report there was a request by the applicant to remove the Zoning Board of Appeals Report, Case #2015-Z-42, 3023 Central Ave. from the table.

Matters referred to the Standing Committees were the review of short-term rental regulations and the review of the R2, Attached Residence Zoning District, and the Townhouse/Stacked Flat use requirements.

The board adjourned to executive session at 7:46 p.m. to discuss pending litigation and collective negotiating matters and deliberations. At 8:31 the board returned and the Village Board meeting was adjourned at 8:32 p.m.
