Streamwood officials hold workshop on village goals with facilitators

Villageofstreamwood

The Village of Streamwood board and staff held a workshop recently to discuss and plan goals and objectives.

The village president, trustees, directors, administrators, police and fire chiefs, and the city attorney met with Executive Corps facilitators R. Jim Young, Marijana Ignjatovic, John Mayer, David Gugel and Doug James.

Young and the other facilitators provided an overview followed by detailed information on the generational dynamics of the current Streamwood workforce, which includes World War II's Greatest Generation and Silent Generation, born roughly between 1920 and 1945; baby boomers, born between 1946 and 1964; Generation X, born between 1965 and the early 1980s; and millennials, born between the early 1980s and early 2000s.

The board and staff broke out into groups to discuss questions presented by Mayer regarding intergovernmental collaboration. After the discussions, the groups reconvened and presented their summaries to the group of workshop participants.

Young went over the board's ongoing goals. New 2016 focus goals for the village were also presented and discussed by the board, which will consider and formalize 2016 goals at a future meeting.
