The next meeting of the Municipal Services Committee of the Village of Wilmette Board of Trustees will be held on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
The meeting will take place in the Council Room of the Wilmette Village Hall at 1200 Wilmette Ave. Items on the agenda include changes to the solid-waste collection route west of 13th Street and east of Green Bay Road, a review of the pedestrian-facilities study, and a review of policies for requesting or relocating a sidewalk and regarding the reconstruction of asphalt-overlaid brick streets. The public is invited to comment.
Minutes from the previous meeting on Sept. 24 will included a presentation given by Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd., on the current storm-sewer system and three storm-sewer studies proposing changes to update and improve the system. The presentation was followed by an extensive discussion of the benefits of each of the proposed changes. Members of the community expressed concerns about flooding issues in the village. The committee will continue to work toward improving the sewer stormwater system and look at the scheduling, financial options and the cost per structure.
