The Mount Prospect Village Board met on Oct. 20, with Mayor Arlene Juracek presiding.
The first order of business was the Mayor's Report, which included accolades and recognitions. Assistant Village Manager David Strahl was presented with a plaque for 30 years of service. Employees were also recognized, including Joan Bokina, Tricia Farkas, Lynn Jarog, Chris Onjack and Claire Wheatley for 10 years each, and Jan Abernethy for 35 years of service.
Ordinances Nos. 6220 and 6221 were approved for Class F-3 liquor licenses for the Outback Steakhouse and Bar 145. This allows full alcohol service in a restaurant with a lounge.
Items approved under the Consent Agenda were the monthly financial report for September, bills dated from Oct. 1-14 and a motion to waive the bid process to purchase desktop PCs at an amount not to exceed $58,797.96.
At the request of Trustee John Matuszak, a motion to accept a plan for contractual snow-plow services
in an amount not to exceed $117,100 from Maxx Contractors was removed from the Consent
Agenda. The next contract instead will be awarded through a competitive bidding process.
Approved under the Village Manager's Report was a proposal to purchase and install eight automated parking machines.
