3. PUBLIC COMMENT TIME

Village President Kathyrn Ciesla addressed members of the Commission thanking them for volunteering for the Ad Hoc Commission noting the importance of the 125th Anniversary milestone for the Village. 

4. DISCUSSION TOPICS

A Review of Commission Structure, Meeting Schedule, and Fiscal Procedures

The Commission will receive an overview of the October 14, 2025 Village Board Resolution (2025-R-169) that established the Ad Hoc 125th Anniversary Commission as well as review procedural matters.

Village Staff presented to the Ad Hoc Commission the Village Board’s direction, meeting cadence, and fiscal parameters. Additionally, Staff shared how other nearby communities such as Glenview, Wilmette, and Glencoe planned and implemented their own anniversary celebrations. Discussion ensued. There was consensus from the commission to continue meeting on the First and Third Wednesdays at of the month at 7pm moving forward.

B 125th Anniversary Logo Review and Recommendation

The Commission will review options for a 125th Anniversary-specific Village logo to be used in promoting activities and events that celebrate the 125th Anniversary and will forward a Commission recommendation of a logo for Village Board approval.

Village Staff presented two proposed logos for feedback and discussion. Discussion ensued on the design and how the logo would be used. Commissioners gave feedback to Village Staff. There was consensus from the Ad Hoc Commission to continue discussion on the logo at the next meeting.

C Discussion on 125th Anniversary Celebration Activities

The Commission will have an initial discussion on activities to support the Village’s 125th Anniversary. Commissioners began initial discussions on how to incorporate the 125th Anniversary into pre-existing special events. Discussion ensued. Chair Oliver, noted that in the interest of time, commissioners should send to Village Staff a list of events from their organizations that would be appropriate to fit into the 125th theme.
