Village of Arlington Heights Special Events Commission met Jan. 14

Here are the minutes provided by the commission:

The meeting in the Commissions Room at Village Hall was called to order at 7:03 p.m. by Commission Chair Brad Katz.

Commissioners in attendance: Kelly Barash, Jennifer Eichorn, Matt Fink, Steve Fromm, Colleen Gaughan, Diane Jamieson, Brad Katz, Laurie Mitchell, Kevin Seifert, and Tripp Turchik

Also present: Staff Liaison Avis Meade

Commissioners Absent: Cari Boyle, Michelle Harris, Kerri Stanley

A motion to approve minutes from December 10 th was made by Steve Fromm with a second by Tripp Turchik

OLD BUSINESS

Hearts of Gold 2026

The event will take place at Rolling Green Country Club on Sunday, Feb. 22 nd , 12 – 4 p.m. Ticket sales continue online and via checks. A new layout of the event includes a reversal of the stage location within the room and improved line of sight is anticipated for all attendees. Commissioners continue to plan logistics involving the event. Staff will ensure that marketing is updated and logos are displayed on promotional items.

NEW BUSINESS:

Swing into Spring 2026

Commissioners continue to plan logistics for Swing into Spring on Saturday, May 9 th , 2026, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at North School Park. Additional considerations for entertainment and musical performances were discussed. Vendors and games were discussed and logistical planning will continue.

OTHER

Sponsorship Program

Revisit in the fall to reconsider whether or not to have Tree Lighting as part of the on-site sponsorship program.

Metropolis Meeting

Staff will book meeting with sub group of commissioners and the staff of the Metropolis to discuss opportunities for performances at future Special Events Commission events.

ADJOURNMENT

A motion was made to end the meeting was made at 8:04 p.m. by Kelly Barash with a second from Colleen Gaughan.
