Ava Hennig, an International Business major at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater from Elk Grove Village, Illinois, achieved first place in the Marketing Challenge team competition at the Pi Sigma Epsilon Fall Conference held November 13-15 in Kent, Ohio.
The university’s Pi Sigma Epsilon – Beta Gamma chapter had a strong showing at the event. Members secured three of the 16 finalist positions in the interview competition and three of four finalist spots in the speakers competition. In the Pro-Am Sell-A-Thon, which included 135 competitors, 12 students from UW-Whitewater were finalists and another 10 received honorable mention. Two students from UW-Whitewater contributed to the winning Marketing Challenge team.
Bailey Quinn, a marketing major from St. Charles, Illinois, placed first in both the speakers competition and the Pro-Am Sell-A-Thon. Noah Verhasselt, a marketing major from Manitowoc, Wisconsin, was a finalist in all three individual competitions and finished third in the Pro-Am Sell-A-Thon.
Pi Sigma Epsilon is described as “a national collegiate organization of students interested in the advancement of sales and marketing as a career and profession.” The Beta Gamma chapter at UW-Whitewater provides professional development opportunities and social events for its members with an emphasis on marketing, sales and management.
The College of Business and Economics at UW-Whitewater houses Pi Sigma Epsilon along with other student organizations that offer growth opportunities for students. The college is recognized as Wisconsin’s largest business school and holds AACSB accreditation.
