Sung Kim graduates from UT Austin with master’s degree in data science

Sung Kim, a resident of Des Plaines, graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in December with a Master of Science in Data Science. Kim was among nearly 2,300 students who received undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral degrees during the ceremony.

These graduates will have the opportunity to join the university-wide commencement ceremonies scheduled for May 2026, celebrating their achievements with the larger UT Austin community.

The University of Texas at Austin was founded in 1883 and is recognized as a leading public university in Texas. Its main campus covers 431 acres and supports a community of almost 55,000 students, 4,800 faculty members, and 15,000 staff members. The university has more than 600,000 living alumni worldwide.

UT Austin offers over 150 undergraduate degree programs and 230 graduate programs across 18 colleges and schools. The institution is known for its work in energy, artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, and national security.
