The price of local government in 2017: Village of Golf

The Village of Golf budget was $1.65 million for its 2017 fiscal year, or $9,651 per household.

That's an increase of 24.3 percent from 2016, when the village spent $1.33 million, or $7,762 per household.

Golf has 171 households and a population of 494.

Since 2001, the Village of Golf budget has grown by 34.1 percent, from $1.23 million. The village population has grown 8.8 percent over the same period, from 454.

Salaries accounted for 16.1 percent of village spending in 2017. Golf property taxpayers paid $266,157 for one full-time employee and 25 part-time employees.
