Buffalo Grove holds public hearing, executive session on 2016 budget.

The public budget hearing was held by the Buffalo Grove Village board at a special meeting on Nov. 16.

Buffalo Grove held the special meeting to accommodate the public hearing on the 2016 budget. At the hearing, Village Manager Dave Bragg provided the opening comments and structure of the hearing. Director of Finance Scott Anderson reviewed the budgeting process and explained that the board and staff have had numerous meetings throughout the year to develop the village budget. He reviewed both the revenue and operating budget for each department.

An overview of the 2016 Strategic Plan goals and key plan outcomes of 2015 were presented. Every department and fund were reviewed, providing highlights from the 2015 budget and projections for the 2016 budget. Anderson confirmed that the pension funds obligation will be met 100 percent in the new budget.

Craig Horwitz, a resident of Buffalo Grove, had several questions regarding the budget, which village staff answered.

President Sussman asked the audience if there were any questions on other topics, but there were none.

After the public hearing, the board retired to an executive session.
