The Park Ridge, Illinois Human Needs Task Force Food Drive is now gathering non-perishable foods for the Maine Township Food Pantry.

The annual food drive continues through the month of November, with numerous drop off locations in Park Ridge. Donations of non-perishable foods may be dropped off at donation bins at Maine South and Main East High Schools and District 64 schools. Bins are also located at these participating banks: Bank of America at 501 N. Greenwood, Chase Bank at 1 S. Northwest Hwy. and 500 Busse Hwy., Harris Bank, Liberty Bank, Parkway Bank at 1001 N. Northwest Hwy. and 608 Higgins Rd., and Village Bank & Trust.

Local businesses are also assisting with the city-wide effort by placing donation bins at various locations, including Athletico at 800 Devon, Century 21 Elm, Charter Fitness, Devine Salon and Touch of Class Nails. Donations are also accepted at Park Ridge City Hall, Park Ridge Public Library and Park Ridge Senior Center.

The Park Ridge Human Needs Task Force appreciates the residents' efforts to help fulfill the organization's mission of assessing the human needs of the community and using existing resources to meet those needs. The task force also identifies needs not being met and recommends plans to repair those issues. Raising awareness and promoting communication helps meet the needs of the community of Park Ridge.
