The Park Ridge-Niles School District 64 Board of Education convened for its regular meeting on February 19, 2026, at Field Elementary School. The session included several updates and approvals affecting district schools and staff.
During the meeting, Shining Stars from Field Elementary were recognized for their contributions to the school community. Fifth grader Charlie Meachem and Head Custodian John Imber were highlighted for embodying the district’s mission.
The Board approved an agreement with Burke and Play Illinois for playground installations at Field and Franklin Elementary Schools. Margaret Chaidez from Burke and Play Illinois presented progress on inclusive playground projects. Installations at Carpenter, Roosevelt, and Washington schools have been completed. Equipment previously used at Carpenter North is being refurbished for installation in Bangladesh through the “Kids Around the World” organization. Work is scheduled to begin in March at Franklin Elementary, with projects at Jefferson and Field planned for June and July.
New principals were announced during the meeting, with their appointments set to begin on July 1, 2026.
The Board passed Resolution #1383 authorizing a notice of remedial warning for a tenured teacher.
In response to ongoing delays in property tax billing in Cook County, the Board approved a resolution urging county officials to address systemic issues affecting school funding timelines. Superintendent Dr. Ben Collins stated: “All the school districts in Cook County are just trying to stand together and continuously put pressure on the County Board to try to rectify and fix the situation, considering we have the next piece of tax installments coming up.”
A three-year contract was approved with Lakeview/Sunrise for regular education transportation services beginning with the 2026-27 school year through 2028-29.
Superintendent Dr. Collins also provided updates on recent achievements within District 64. Several staff members—Karen Corsello, Victoria Wilson, Anna Bauer, and Colleen Biere—were acknowledged as presenters at IDEAcon, an educational technology conference.
Other motions approved as part of the consent agenda included financial updates through December 31, 2025; personnel reports; policy readings; flooring installation at Emerson School; concrete sealing after abatement work at Lincoln, Franklin, and Roosevelt Schools; as well as approval of minutes from meetings held on January 15, 2026.
