Mary and Leigh Block Museum of Art

40 Arts Circle Drive, Evanston, IL 60201

Exhibits change periodically in the museum’s four gallery spaces. Some are organized by the Block’s own curators; others travel from other institutions. The museum has also focused on the history of Chicago art and has celebrated some little-known but deserving artists.

Other exhibits and events are more academic in nature. The Block’s strength is in 20th Century art, primarily prints and drawings. Seminars and lectures are often conducted in connection with the work on display; literature and music associated with the art are frequent subjects. The nearby sculpture garden outside the museum provides a look at some of the greats of 20th Century outdoor sculpture, including Arp, Lipchitz, Hepworth, Ipousteguy, Miro and Henry Moore.
