On Friday, Feb. 27, at 3 p.m., Mount St. Mary’s Mountaineers, featuring former New Trier High School standout Alex Mendes, secured a 13-6 victory against the Norfolk State Spartans in NCAA Division I baseball action.
The teams met at Marty L. Miller Field for their first contest of the season.
Mendes delivered three hits in as many at-bats, crossed the plate three times, and tallied one run batted in.
The Mountaineers are set to face the Spartans again at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at Marty L. Miller Field.
