Elizabeth Ann Johnson was born on May 2, 1974, in Cheektowaga, New York. She developed her athletic skills playing softball, excelling as a pitcher. In 1992, she won the Coca-Cola Youth Bowling Championships following high school. Johnson attended Morehead State University, where she earned accolades as Rookie of the Year and Collegiate Bowler of the Year in 1993.
Johnson launched her professional bowling career on the PWBA Tour, securing 25 titles throughout her tenure, including six U.S. Women’s Open championships. In 2005, she made history as the first woman to defeat a man in a televised PBA Tour event.
She was inducted into the United States Bowling Congress Hall of Fame in 2015. Johnson previously lived in Palatine, Illinois, and currently resides in Niagara Falls, New York. In 2024, she joined the PBA50 Tour, becoming the first woman to reach the championship finals of a PBA50 Tour event. Her accomplishments in bowling are widely recognized, and her ties to Palatine remain notable.
