Lewis University students recently participated in a Social Justice Pilgrimage to France from January 1-14, focusing on the life and mission of St. John Baptist de La Salle. The group visited several significant sites connected to De La Salle’s legacy, including Saint-Sulpice Church in Paris, where he attended seminary, and Reims Cathedral, his birthplace and early ministry location.

The pilgrimage was led by Venus Wozniak, associate director of mission and ministry, and Dr. Jennifer Buss, professor of education. Other participating students included Ariana Barajas, Maria Esparza, Gabriella Filipponi, Sofia Haro, Augusta Harris-Patel, Karen Hernandez, Joseph Holly, Adam Ligenza, Sofia Ramos, Ramiro Regalado, Jisela Rosas, Olivia Sawickis, Ayleen Waldrop, and Micah West.
