Courtney McGuinn of Port Barrington has been named to the Eastern Illinois University (EIU) Fall 2025 Dean’s List. McGuinn is majoring in Special Education with a focus on Early Childhood Education and is among more than 940 students recognized for academic achievement last semester.

Dean’s List recognition at EIU is given to undergraduate students who have a declared major, earn a semester GPA between 3.80 and 4.00, and complete at least 12 graded credit hours.

Eastern Illinois University, located in Charleston, Illinois, reports that it has the highest placement rate among public universities in the state, with 91% of graduates working or enrolled in graduate school within months of graduation. The university highlights its small class sizes and affordability as key features.
