Catholic Vote President Evanston HS birth control: ‘We urge parents everywhere to speak up and stop this monstrous assault on our children’

Catholic Vote President Brian Burch commented on results from a recent investigation into schools like Evanston Township, which revealed schools officials being allowed to prescribe birth control to minors without parental consent or knowledge.

“Make no mistake, the revolution being foisted on our kids has no basis in science. Kids should never be used as political tools for perverts and deviants. We urge parents everywhere to speak up and stop this monstrous assault on our children before it’s too late.”

Life News is reporting that so-called “health centers” set up in K-12 schools offer assistance for girls to get abortions, and have programs that encourage gender transition for minors. These services are being provided without parental knowledge or consent. Life News writes that “At least 1,044 school districts in the United States have policies requiring teachers, administrators, and other staff to keep a student’s ‘transition’ from his or her parents.”

A parental rights group, Parents Defending Education, investigated these school-based health centers. Among the services reported at Evanston Township High School in Illinois is access to, without parental consent, “prescriptions for short-term hormonal birth control like the birth control pill.” Other states provide similar services to students, including California, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Mexico, Oregon, and Washington.

Life News also reports that “School counselors and teachers who have exposed or criticized these policies publicly have been fired, both in California and Indiana. An Indiana law passed last year (HB 1608) requires schools to notify at least one parent in writing when a student requests that the school affirm his or her ‘transition.'”

Madison, Wisconsin-based Catholic Vote is an advocacy organization that wants to “inspire every Catholic in America to live out the truths of our faith in public life,” according to the group’s website. Founded in 2008, its president is Brian Burch.
