II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

1. Palatine Fire and Police Commission - Regular Meeting - November 3, 2021 - Accepted

Minutes from November 3, 2021 were presented to the Commissioners. Commissioner Dan Nallen motioned to approve the minutes and Commissioner Jim Hader seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

RESULT: ACCEPTED [UNANIMOUS]

2. Palatine Fire and Police Commission - Special Meeting - November 15, 2021 - Accepted

Minutes from November 15, 2021 were presented to the Commissioners. Commissioner Dan Nallen motioned to approve the minutes and Commissioner Jim Hader seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

RESULT: ACCEPTED [UNANIMOUS]

3. Palatine Fire and Police Commission - Special Meeting - November 16, 2021 - Accepted

Minutes from November 16, 2021 were presented to the Commissioners. Commissioner Dan Nallen motioned to approve the minutes and Commissioner Jim Hader seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

RESULT: ACCEPTED [UNANIMOUS]

III. POLICE DEPARTMENT STATUS UPDATE

Chief Daigle discussed the current and future staffing requirements for the department with emphasis on retirement replacement and expected openings.

There was a discussion regarding the past testing procedure and the need for changes in the interview process.

1. Personnel Update

Chief Daigle gave an update of department staffing including new hires and upcoming retirements.

2. Police Department Status Update

Recommendation for Permanent Appointment.

1. Consider a Motion to Approve Permanent Appointment for Officer Campbell -

Commissioner Dan Nallen motioned to approve permanent appointment. Commissioner Jim Hader seconded.

2. Consider a Motion to Approve Permanent Appointment for Officer Chlosta -

Commissioner Dan Nallen motioned to approve permanent appointment. Commissioner Jim Hader seconded.

3. Consider a Motion to Approve Permanent Appointmment for Officer Hanselmann -

Commissioner Dan Nallen motioned to approve permanent appointment. Commissioner Jim Hader seconded.

4. Consider a Motion to Approve Permanent Appointment for Sergeant Mattuck -

Commissioner Dan Nallen motioned to approve permanent appointment. Commissioner Jim Hader seconded.

5. Consider a Motion to Approve Permanent Appointment for Sergeant Meeks -

Commissioner Dan Nallen motioned to approve permanent appointment. Commissioner Jim Hader seconded.

3. Police Officer Test

There was discussion regarding conducting a police officer exam process in the Spring 2022.

1. Motion to approve 2022 Police Officer Testing - Motion Carried by Voice Vote

Approve the application and written testing period to be open 3/1-5/31/22 using National Testing Network was moved by Commissioner Dan Nallen. Commissioner Robert Falardeau seconded.

Approve 6/11/22 for the physical ability test was moved by Commissioner Dan Nallen. Commissioner Robert Falardeau seconded.

Approve interviews for 6/13-6/16/22 was moved by Commissioner Dan Nallen. Commissioner Robert Falardeau seconded.

RESULT: MOTION CARRIED BY VOICE VOTE [UNANIMOUS]
