Eagles hold off late Holy Cross comeback to earn Conference Victory 82-79

The Judson University Women's Basketball Team played a fantastic first 20 minutes and held on to defeat Holy Cross 82-79 on Monday. The Eagles held a 21-point lead in the second quarter, led by 16 at halftime, led by 10 after three quarters, and led by nine with 2:30 left. Yet, the Eagles found themselves up by three with five seconds left, and two last-second three-point attempts rimmed out to allow the Eagles to survive. 

Sydnie Wolf led all scorers with 19 points with 11-13 made free throws and four made field goals. She also had two rebounds and two assists to her name. Sydney Novak had 17 points on 5-9 shooting (1-1 from three) and made 6-8 field goals. Additionally, she added six rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Jasmine Mitchell scored 15 points, including 11 first-half points. She was 7-11 from the field (making her lone three) and had six rebounds, two blocks, and three assists. Ta'Mia Banks finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds to amass a double-double. She finished with seven assists and two steals. Haven Beyer also had 10 points in 10 minutes, making 4-7 field goals (1-4 from three) and adding a free throw and a block. Jocelyn Mitchell (six points, two rebounds, two assists, and a block) and Addie Ringel (two points, one rebound) also scored for the Eagles. 

Judson (5-16, 4-11 CCAC) hosts Calumet College on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
